As per our previous post we had the pleasure of attending some of Street Machines Southland’s 30th anniversary celebrations yesterday. This was one of our favourites and our feature car for this series – the 1957 Ford Custom 300.

Over the past few weeks we’ve been pretty busy. From client shoots, to self development experimental shoots, developing ideas for future shoots and everything in between. However, one of the standout developments from the past couple of weeks was securing our first postcard contract with Pikitia (http://www.pikitia.co.nz/). Layton’s first postcard will be on sale at the Invercargill Airport shortly and hopefully this will be the first of many sales We’ll be sharing some of our recent images this afternoon so make sure to check back in later today to check them out.

Inspired by San Francisco Photographer Dustin Diaz (www.flickr.com/photos/polvero) we hooked up with local photographer Eddie Griffiths on Saturday for a night of experimental strobism. It was freezing cold and slightly damp, but very rewarding as the images above show. Layton also got to try another homage to Dustin, his first miniature shoot. Radioactive Homer worked so well he’s itching to shoot another one…watch this space!

This themed shoot has been on the cards for a wee while and has been a bit of a ‘pet project’ for us. We are so pleased with the results and couldn’t wait to share them. This themed shoot is for our new look portfolio (to be launched early next year).
Layton had such a great time at the last Stags rugby match that he couldn’t resist going back for seconds. This time it was the Southland Stags vs Hawkes Bay.

Trawling through my father’s old analogue gear and what do I find but his old Cokin P filters, Graduated ND, warming filter and ND, plus one unused roll of Sensia film. Unfortunately I didn’t find the old EOS camera to go with the film. Still, it was a great wee haul and now all I need is the adapter for the filters and I’m in business.
