3 Degrees Centigrade with the Milky Way

It’s been a while since our last post.  We’ve had a major project on the go (all to be revealed in the coming months).  We’ve got a few walkabouts to catch up on and of course a few week’s of Mini Men roundups, but we thought we’d start with this wee gem from this morning.

Milky Way over the Estuary

It’s currently the start of Winter here and as the title suggests it was very cold out this morning – but what better weather for a clear sky and a very visible Milky Way.

There is quite a bit of geometric distortion in the image, which has been left in so the Milky Way doesn’t get cropped out.  Does this count as a reason for purchasing a wide angle lens? 🙂

Recently we’ve been working on getting a few portfolio shots together to show potential clients what we can do.  As part of this process we’ve joined forces with a couple of local businesses to showcase their products and services at the same time – which also gives our shoots a bit of focus and direction rather than just being self-assigned projects.

Cheeky wee bird…

This wee fella is a Kea.  A New Zealand native alpine parrot.  We’ve seen many Kea before, they’re usually found in alpine environments of the South Island which are some of our favourite areas – such as Fiordland National Park and Arthur’s Pass.
