This is a bit of a change for Layton. Shooting at sunset instead of sunrise (but still at one of his favourite locations – the Invercargill Estuary.

Only one ‘Extra’ this week. This full moon was crying out to be photographed.
Just the one extra this week taken down at the river during a lovely family outing.
It’s not much but we’ll take it. This week’s extras are from the snow day in Invercargill. Only one of these featured in the 365 Photo Challenge as an extra, but we figured we’d include the set in this post.
Week 20 was a big week for extras in the Challenge.
Whilst in Dunedin, Layton took the opportunity to do a wee morning walkabout. The full set of these photos is still to come, in the meantime here is the one he chose as an extra for his 365 Photo Challenge.

He didn’t have his tripod for this shot so pushed the ISO to 3200, the shot was taken at 1/60th second at f2.8.
The bonus image for Week 18 was another Aurora Australis. As mentioned in Week 18’s post, Week 18 was largely about Layton’s Favourite Things. This image shows one of his favourite things to photograph.

The long weekend break over Easter allowed Layton a bit of time to get out on a couple of walkabouts. These pictures were a couple of his favourites from these outings and were included in his 365 Challenge as Extras this week.
Both have been taken early morning in Invercargill.
A couple of extras from Week 16. The first is Easter flooding on the Taieri Plains (just South of Dunedin), the second is just before dawn at one of Layton’s favourite photography spots – the Invercargill Estuary walkway.
As a wee added extra to Week 15 Layton also posted this image from an afternoon out being devoured by insects at Dunsdale, Southland.
